Updated: Aug 3, 2019

Erica talks about plumping and lifting in Podcast Episode #13. Here are some of her notes...

It seems everyone wants a full, round booty right now, and there's no shortage of people that will happily sell you their miracle solution to the perfect butt. Do any of these techniques work? Let's break it down by category.

Creams, Scrub & Gels

With ingredients that range from organic oils, to caffeine sources, to crushed walnuts, to facial acids, to plumping moisturizers, and anything else you can think of, you are guaranteed to have smooth, well-moisturized skin on that tush. But will it be noticibly bigger? Absolutely not.

As if any vitamin, mineral, herb or combo thereof was all it would take. Please.

Exercise and Resistance Bands

Of course, focused exercise and weight training will change the shape, add to the mass, and lift those buns. It's great to have a specific fitness goal and your butt will look much better! But people who are looking for a jump into the Nicki Minaj-level of super booty will be sore and disappointed.

The $12-18,000 (!) procedure is actually called Gluteal Fat Grafting, but its more commonly known as the Brazilian Butt Lift. Fat is removed from another part of the body and grafted onto the butt. And according The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, it is the MOST DANGEROUS COSMETIC SURGERY OUT THERE! One in 3,000 patients die...yes, die... as a result of this surgery. Only 60-80% of the fat stays in the new location, the rest will be reabsorbed into the body, and the possibility of floating fat embolisms increases significantly. Doesn't really seem worth it.

Don't have an extra $12K laying around for surgery? Why not go the discount route and have non-medical grade fillers injected directly into the booty? It's only $1000...that's $500 per cheek! And it's often administered at a "filler party! OMG. Everyone should know by now that directly injecting silicone into your body is a terrible idea. Inevitably, some of the silicone will shift and resettle in a new area. The side effects can range anywhere from a few unwanted lumps to intense pain. Long term auto-immune diseases are also linked to the presence of silicone in the body. Removing silicone can be so dangerous that many surgeons will not even attempt it. This is not an option for anyone!

I say get the best booty you can as long as it doesn't cause you serious, lifelong harm!!!
